EAGO takes this request on the web. You do not need the app installed. Send the booking reference and the phone number on that booking. Staff record it, then remove the sign-in account. The booking and the payment stay.
Steps
- Find the booking reference on your ticket. It looks like
EG-followed by letters and numbers. - Enter that reference and the phone number on the booking, with the country code.
- Send the request. EAGO stores it for staff and writes an audit entry.
- Staff match the reference to the phone, then remove the account data in the next section. The privacy policy says we answer within 30 days. You can also email privacy@eastafricago.com.
EAGO has recorded this request. Staff will match the booking and remove the sign-in account. The booking and the payment stay on the record described below.
Request number:
What is deleted
When staff confirm the request, EAGO removes the sign-in account for that phone number:
- The account name, email, document number stored on the account, language, and marketing choice.
- Saved family and traveller contacts on the account.
- Sign-in sessions and one-time codes for that phone.
The daily job already removes other data on a clock, whether or not you send this form:
- A passenger location share is deleted after 24 hours, or when the trip has arrived or been cancelled.
- Other position rows are deleted after 90 days.
- Message text is replaced after 90 days. The delivery row is deleted after 2 years.
- Support chats and support tickets are deleted after 2 years.
- Expired one-time codes and traveller sessions are deleted 1 day after they expire.
What is kept, and for how long
Sending this form records the request. It leaves the booking in place. When staff later remove the account, these rows stay:
- The booking — passenger name, phone number, seats, fare, status, and, on a border trip, the document number. The privacy policy keeps booking records for seven years for tax and accounting. The daily job does not delete them.
- The payment — amount, network, the Mobile Money number used, and the transaction reference. Card numbers are not stored. The same seven-year period applies. The daily job does not delete payment rows.
- A stay booking or an accommodation request keeps the name and phone on that row.
- This request stays in the staff list, with the audit entry, so there is a record that deletion was asked for and, once staff confirm it, that the account was removed.
A copy of the ticket on this phone is cleared from the account screen with “Forget my saved details”. That copy lives on the device.
